The sale of registered premises
increased 10.5% in February
The purchase of premises registered increased 10.5%, in terms of year-over-year growth, up to 45,607 units according to the National Institute of Statistic (INE as per its acronyms in Spanish) which records the figures of the Registrars Association. It is worthy to mention that the properties are registered within two or three months after the signing in the notary office. Therefore, these figures do not include the operations concluded at the end of 2010.
In regards to the prior months, January, the sale of properties increased a slight 1.3%. 86.2% out of the properties sold in February are free marketed and 13.9% of them are state-subsidized properties. In terms of year-over-year growth, the number of free marketed properties increased 9.3% and the state-subsidized properties increased 18.6%.
50.2% out of the properties transferred through purchase operations in February are resale and 49.8% are of new construction. The number of operations on new properties increased 6.4% and those of resale increase 14.9% in regards to February 2010.
