Endesa announces the cut of supply
to the Town Hall of Coin for non payment
The electricity company Endesa informed the Town Hall of Coín (Málaga) that they would cut the supply to municipal buildings if they do not pay 133.225 Euros for the debt contracted by the administration.
In this sense, the Town Hall would pay 60.000 Euros to the electricity company in order to pay part of the debt and avoid the cut off of the supply, according to the announcement made by the Mayor of the town, the “popular” Fernando Fernandez, who has shown his dismay in the ways this company pressurizes.
The governor has explained that the Town Hall pay Endesa the amount of 400.000 Euros, announced last Friday, when he acknowledged that the total debt at the Town Hall ascends to 27, 6 million Euros. A debt that is held both with the administrations, Social Security or Tax Office, as also with suppliers and bank branches, along with the electricity supplier.
“This is a debt held with Endesa since December of 2010 until today’s date, and which is inherited from the works made by the previous team of socialist government of which we want to tackle”, the governor has commented, and has clarified that as soon as the payments pending were brought to light, he met with one of the persons responsible for the electricity in order to forward the economic situation and establish a schedule of payments.
This amount corresponds to one of the three supplying companies that Endesa has and makes reference to a period understood to be between December 2010 and March 2011. During these dates there have also been other payments accumulating with the company.
The governor has informed that, after having met with the technicians of the economic area, they have been able to collect 60.000 Euros to pay and avoid the cut that would affect municipal buildings such as the offices at Plaza de la Villa or the main Town Hall.
