Building works for the new port of Marbella
ready to start in 2012
The project of the prince of Qatar Abdullah Ben Nasser Al-Thani to enlarge the port of La Bajadilla in Marbella came to not let anyone down. This week it became a public fact that the temporary association of companies created for this issue, Nassir Bin Abdullah & Sons, is about to even cut down the initial time-frame.
The Spanish company Jetcommunication was the one commissioned to record the project showing its impressive architectural innovation, the semicircular dam of the marina and the reminiscent of the avant-garde architectural Arab Emirates style.
The enlargement of the port will involve 84 Million Euros investment plus 7 (seven) million to be invested in the leisure area. Later on, in approximately three year’s time, another bigger leisure centre will be built. The latter will be home to a 20.000 m2 five star Hotel with 200 rooms (after the Junta de Andalucía grants the accurate licenses).
Together with the 858 yacht moorings, the 360 boats the dry marina, and the two yacht moorings for mega yachts up to 125 meters long, the big start is the dock which will allow anchoring passenger liners up to 175 meters long to hold up 500 passengers.
The company commissioned for the running and the enlargement building works for the next 40 years mentioned that the remodeling works will create around 1.500 direct jobs and another 3.000 not direct jobs. Therefore, the investment will become the “most important of the Mediterranean coast”
They added fares for docks will be lower than those referred to by the Junta: 0, 27 Euros per square meters and day against 0, 30 Euros.
